The Gracia area in Barcelona is treated as the ” old town” in the new city. The location is in the center, and it is basically close to everything.
The most important, endless amazing food here. Just walk around, for around 10 euros, you could easily get a menu with three courses. Too many courses these days for every meal.
This is one of the meals surprise me. LA PEPITA. Looking from outside it is a quite small place and with all signatures and paintings on all the windows and walls. To be honest, didn’t expect much. But the food is surprisingly good and all the waiters speak good English.
Starter: Tomato Bread, Grilled Pulpo, and raw fish salad.
Pepita is the thing here. There are a lot choices, and we choose bacon and burger. Special cooking method I haven’t seen before, but the taste is way more than a “sandwich”.
THE SWEET! THE SWEET! Corn ice cream with REAL POPCORN inside. This inspired me I think from now on movie with ice cream popcorn.
The prize for dinner is not that cheap for Barcelona, but considering the quality of the food, totally worth it.

Another restaurant I could call it an experience is the 8 courses menu in LA BARBACOA de GRACIA.
It looks normal hidden in the neighborhood of Gracia, opens at 21:00 for dinner. The average age of the customers in that restaurant is almost around 60, we are the youngest there. No fancy decoration, no fancy food, but tasty homemade food and in super big amount. The tasting menu is 8 courses, YES 8. After several rounds I was thinking maybe I am already full but the food is so good I could not stop. The dishes contains chicken, pork, lamb, beef, fish, shells, sweets etc, basically anything you could have in a normal meal.
Here we go. Note all the stuff below contains in one menu costs 17.50 euros per person.
Cheese potato + Chicken.
Garlic and tomato toast, 6 kinds of meat combined dish.
Shell + octopus
Cheese cake + Honey with cheese. (The second one I have tried from a Italian friend, could also be home-mage with Cheese, honey and pear, weird combination but nice.)
10 kgs gained after Barcelona Gracia. Gonna be a happy fatty.
